CTD Newcastle V's Movember
CTD Newcastle's staff have decided to take part in this year's Movember charity event to raise funds for Dudley youngster Frankie Sherwood who is currently waiting to receive his much anticipated test results after undergoing potentially life changing surgery.
CTD Members of Staff have opted to grow their facial hair for 30 days throughout the month of November (Movemeber) and will grow and groom their way up until the last day of the month – It’s about to become the hairiest month of the year!
Movember originated in 2003 when two Australian friends decided to try and bring back the moustache and they certainly did just that. With over 5 million people now taking part in Movember it is safe to say that this hairy tale has turn into a global phenomenon. Traditionally raising money and awareness of men's health issues - CTD's twist this year is to try and help a boy and his family local to the branch.

Frankie who was diagnosed with an aggressive, rare form of cancer called Neuroblastoma underwent a 10 hour operation earlier this week in order to remove a cancerous tumor the size of a football.
Frankie’s parents eagerly await his test results which will determine how much of the tumor has been removed and how much has been left behind. Once the results are in Frankie will then undergo numerous courses of chemotherapy to try and reduce the cancer that doctors were unable to remove.
Unfortunately with the rare Neuroblastoma cancer there is an 80% chance Frankie could relapse within the next 3 years which is why our Newcastle CTD Staff have decided to help raise funds to go towards specialist treatment in America for Frankie Sherwood - and as it's the month of November - what better way than to do a Movember
We can’t wait to see what fun, creative and outrageously shaped moustaches the CTD Newcastle guys decide to grow and raise vital funds while they do it.
