Green Bathroom Ideas to Revive a Space

A refreshing and relaxing shade, the colour green has strong associations with nature, bringing to mind the great outdoors and its calming qualities. Green’s innate nature-inspired and soothing appeal make it an ideal (and very popular) choice for the bathroom.

The bathroom is a space where we want to feel a sense of tranquility; where we can feel at ease whilst also preparing for the day ahead or winding down in the evening. Often described as a refreshing and restful colour, green has also been known to positively affect thinking, promote creativity and even help heal, making it the perfect colour for a bathroom revamp. From deep forest hues to pastel mint shades, there are a number of inspirational ways to incorporate green into the bathroom to create a refreshing and reviving space… here are some of our favourites…

Go for Pastels: Mint Green Tiles

Who doesn’t love a pastel scheme? Whether it’s modern or traditional, mint green can fit into any type of bathroom space, injecting a hint of refreshing serenity and style all at once. Mint green will pair effortlessly with other pastel tones, especially pink. Here, our Nador mint square tiles act as a calming backdrop to an upcycled modern cabinet, a blush pink vase and pops of bright accent yellow. All together, this bathroom oozes retro vibes topped off with a hint of tranquility thanks to the wonderfully complementary colour palette. For a more classic take on the mint green tile, pair a glossy metro tile with its white and grey tile counterparts to achieve a colourful yet soothing green bathroom aesthetic.

STYLE TIP: If you want to add just a touch more interest to a classically-styled space, opt for a patterned tile on the floor in a coordinating colour palette, like our Havana Ornate Silver Matt Tile.

Meet Halfway: Half-tiled Green Walls

A timeless trick in bathroom design, half-tiled walls are a practical and eye-catching way to incorporate some colour into the room. The perfect option for those who either want to save on the cost of tiles, or those who want to make a bit of a statement with some wallpaper, a green lower tiled wall will work wonders in bathrooms of all sizes.

Speaking of wallpaper, we love how @casacoulsdon has paired our Dyroy Green tiles, stacked vertically, with a busy animal-inspired wallpaper in a small cloakroom. The green shade variations in the tiles pair with the pops of green in the wallpaper, tying the whole look together to create a bathroom that certainly has the wow factor.

Opting for a more pared-back feeling, @syerandsonsbathrooms show how to combine different textures and materials with ease. The same Dyroy Green tiles sit half-way up the wall behind the bath and WC, acting as a colourful contrast against the brick wall and crisp white sanitaryware.

Gloriously Green Herringbone

Whether on the walls or the floor, herringbone adds interest and character to surfaces. An eyecatching pattern, a green herringbone tiled wall in the bathroom brings both a feeling of calm and fun into the space, whether applied floor-to-ceiling or just as a splashback behind a basin. Stack it up: Green shower tiles

If you don’t want to tile your whole area, or fill your whole bathroom with green, just look to the shower and bath enclosure. The ideal spot for a pop of colour that will make you feel refreshed and revitalised as you bathe, consider stacking your green tiles vertically for that extra design edge. We love @bell_abode’s cleverly tiled shower area in the Poitiers Green Gloss tiles, which even goes into the shower niche. Paired with brushed brass brassware, a terrazzo floor and a simple vertically tiled splashback in the same tiles, it’s the best example of how to combine different colours and patterns to create a modern, tranquil bathroom.

A Touch of Traditional: Classic Green Bathroom Style

Possibly one of our favourite green bathrooms ever, @littlehouseinlondon’s combination of a fully tiled green wall, patterned floor tiles and traditional rolltop bath will have you dreaming of your very own period-inspired bathroom space. Our Dyroy Green tiles and Cuban Silver Star patterned floor tiles are extremely versatile and can be incorporated into both contemporary and more traditional schemes. Paired with the chrome brassware and fixtures and @littlehouseinlondon’s styling touches, we don’t think we’d ever get out of that bath if it was ours!
