4 of the Best Bathroom Colour Combinations

From downstairs cloakrooms to master ensuites, bathrooms have become increasingly full of colour. Over the years, homeowners have become more experimental with their bathroom schemes, incorporating more ‘lived-in’ elements and creating spaces that aren’t so clinical and functional – they now have more personality and character than ever before and a lot of this is down to colour choice.

Whether you’re a fan of calming neutral shades, or want to make a statement with contrasting tones, we’ve taken a look at our favourite bathroom colour combinations…

White & Blue For a Serene Bathroom

White and Blue Bathroom Tiles

A classic and timeless choice, blue and white will never go out of fashion in the bathroom. Sure, it’s developed into using different on-trend shades, from minty hues to more turquoise tones, but as a choice, you can’t go too far wrong with this colour combination.

Particularly well suited to more traditional schemes, you can opt for a more subtle approach with just a hint of colour on a neutral base. Our Havana Silver Ornate tiles feature a white background with an intricate pattern that is predominantly grey with just a hint of blue – paired with some blue and white metro wall tiles, a classic freestanding basin and chrome accents, you’ve got yourself a wonderfully serene and stylish bathroom.

For a bolder take on this colour combination, go for a mainly blue scheme with hints of white. Don’t be afraid to mix and match different tiles as well – our Dyroy Aqua wall tiles come in slightly different shade variations, meaning that they work well with a block colour tile such as the Contrasti Tappeto Ottanio floor tiles. As long as you’re working with shades that complement each other, you can be a bit more daring and go for more colour!

Go Bold with Pink & Green

Two colours that should always be seen (in our opinion), pink and green interiors are taking over Instagram, Pinterest and magazines, and we absolutely love it. Playful yet classy, these two shades can be combined in so many different ways in the bathroom. From two-toned tiled walls, as demonstrated here with our Nador tiles, to the winning formula of a half-tiled and half-wallpapered wall in a smaller cloakroom, the options are endless when it comes to working with pink and green.

We have a huge range of green tiles to choose from and a wonderful selection of pretty pink tiles too, and for that extra bit of interest, consider opting for a patterned tile on the floor to work with your new favourite colour scheme!

A Combination of Two Favourites: Green & Blue

The past few years have seen both these colours rise in popularity, both independently and as a pairing, and you can definitely see why; green brings a sense of natural vibrancy to interiors, whilst blue has a grounding and calming effect whilst still exuding joy through colour. If you’re going to go for blue and green in the bathroom, why not really go for it? As an example, we love how The Girl With The Green Sofa has paired green woodwork, a leafy wallpaper and blue panelling in this small bathroom to create a space that really pops.

Bold patterned wallpaper will always be a winner in the bathroom, especially when paired with a half-tiled wall or panelling in a bright colour. Alternatively, another way of adding interest to your bathroom walls is to lay green tiles in an eye-catching pattern using a contrasting grout colour. Our Poitiers Green tiles are the perfect deep green shade to team with lighter blue cabinetry and blue accessories, as you can see here!

Subtle Colour and Sophistication: Monochrome & Pink

If you’ve not seen pink making a comeback in interiors then where have you been? Long gone are the days of pink being considered a colour just for children, it is instead thought of as quite a firm staple and even a neutral in some designers’ and homeowners’ minds. From dusky sophisticated shades to light peachy hues, pairing pink with black and white accents will create modern bathroom schemes that ooze seamless contemporary style. Whether you go for pink tiles and black hardware, or pink paint and some black and white tiles, we would strongly urge you to consider this colour combination for your next bathroom renovation project!
