Shop the Look with Tiles – 3 Kitchen Tile Ideas You’ll Love

Take the hassle out of picking tiles for your home with these three easy to follow ideas. Read below for more:

Tonal Kitchen Tiles

If you love a pared back look – then your tiling will play a huge role in creating a fuss-free look. When it comes to your tiling choices, why not go for a tonal colour pallet? Start by choosing a single colour for your kitchen design, then colour match your wall tiles to your floor tiles.

Tonal doesn’t mean boring! You can still have fun with this look by laying geometric patterned floor tile which will add visual interest to your kitchen. But keep it simple with metro style wall tiles. Choosing tonal tiling works particularly well in small kitchens where visually you want the space to look sleek and paired back!

STYLE TIP: Choose units in the same colour as you counter surfaces for a seamless look and keep clutter at bay with integrated appliances. Think clutter free surfaces, flush fronted units, cool and calm colour schemes, and lots of smart storage.

Create a Contrast

Green and Blue Kitchen Tiles

One way to add personality to your kitchen is with colour! And what better way to do so than by decorating your kitchen with contrasting colourful tiles. If you want a bolder look, go for striking colours combinations like hot pink and navy, or mustard and orange. Or for a cool and collected feel, choose tiles from the same end of the colour spectrum – like these green and blue tiles above that have a light reflective glazed finish.

Choose tiles in variety of finishes including matte and high gloss surfaces contrasted against each other. You can have lots of fun with your kitchen tile design by picking a bold, contrasting colour palette to create a statement space.

STYLE TIP: Go for coloured base units, then continue this colour through by tiling the end of your kitchen island. Then on the walls, create subtle contrast with tiles. Colour match your walls colour to your tiles to bring the look together.

Mixing Pattern

Poitiers Light Grey Kitchen Tiles

Pattern tiles will have a transformative impact on your kitchen, making it feel warm and welcoming. Mixing patterns can feel a little daunting at first. One easy trick is to choose your patterned floor tile, then pick out the colours in the design when selecting your wall tiles.

The great thing about tiles is that you can create patterns just by the way you lay them. In the kitchen above a herringbone pattern complements a Victorian-inspired floor tile for a cohesive look.

STYLE TIP: Patterns can bring rustic styling to your home to create a cosy, lived-in feel that makes you want to stay in more, gathering in the heart of the home which is the kitchen! Complement your pattered tiling with colour coordinating kitchen accessories.
