Can wall tiles be used as floor tiles?

We would not recommend using wall tiles on floors especially if the wall tile is a glazed ceramic tile. However, most tiles are suitable for walls and floors. The different types of porcelain tiles, for example, are usually for walls and floors.
What size wall tiles should I use?

Our wall tile collection ranges from 96x96mm all the way up to 1200x600mm. You don’t have to use just one size on your walls. Using a 600x600mm on walls mixes well with 300x300mm mosaics. Don’t think you have to tile the full wall either; tiling half way up your wall is a great option and perfect for when you’re working to a budget. Use the larger 1200x600mm portrait on your wall like the Marmori range or use Cliveden that offers a mix of plain and decorative tiles. All our wall tile ranges can be adapted to suit various areas and budgets.
What finishing touches can I apply to my walls when using tiles?

Once you have found your perfect wall tiles, you should also think about the finishing touches, such as grout and silicone colours. Another great finishing touch are tile trims. Use them to give corners, angles, window frames and shelves a clean crisp finish can also add that extra something. Available in PVC or metallic finishes, such as stainless steel, brushed aluminium, silver finish or natural stone-effect such as granite and sandstone.
Are your wall tiles suitable for any room?

All our wall tiles are suitable for kitchens and bathrooms as well as other living areas. What thickness are wall tiles?

A large percentage of tiles produced today are porcelain and can be laid onto wall and floor, a small percentage of tiles produced are ceramic for walls only and can vary in thickness from 6mm to 12mm. It is important to note that a 6mm tile will only be used in small format tile 150x150mm for instance, a 10mm tile will be used in a larger format 600x300mm tile, 6mm in a 600x300mm tile would break in carriage and handling.
Can I use a wall tile on a floor?

No, however, you can use floor tiles on walls. It’s due to the strength of the tile and the amount of wear it receives could cause cracking of a wall tile used on floor. A high-traffic area using wall tiles would crack quickly.
